Iskanchi Magazine Prize
True to the 'Iskanchi' spirit, Iskanchi Magazine is seeking the most irreverent, disobedient, and non-conforming voices. We want work that examines what the experimental form looks like in the African literary context. We will select 10 pieces for the shortlist and choose three winners. All winning and shortlisted pieces will be published in our upcoming issue and considered for inclusion in Iskanchi's forthcoming Best African Experimental Writing (BAE) Anthology.
Prizes
- First Place: $200
- Second Place: $150
- Third Place: $100
- Shortlisted Writers: $50 each
Submission Details
- Submissions for the prize are currently closed. Keep an eye on our socials for future open calls.
- We welcome work in most styles, forms, or genres, but we recommend reading previous issues of the Iskanchi Magazine to get sense of the kind of writing we publish.
- Use "Magazine Prize" as the subject of your submission. It helps us keep track of your submission.
- Include a brief cover letter, a third-person bio, and your social media links.
- We do not accept previously published work in print or online, including personal blogs and social media.
- Simultaneously submissions are allowed, but please notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere
- Accepted file formats: .doc, .docx, or .pdf.
